Hara Surfboards
High-performance surfboards with cork as a structural and skin material — a lower-carbon answer to fibreglass.

Hara Surfboards is our sports and lifestyle venture, built in partnership with shaper Luís Carvalho. Cork replaces conventional fibreglass as both structural layer and skin — bringing shock absorption, compressibility & elasticity and a naturally warm-to-touch surface to a board that is lightweight, durable and made from a sustainable, carbon-negative material.
Named after the Japanese concept of the *center of the body* — the place from which movement flows — Hara pairs Dimas & Silva's cork heritage with rigorous industrial precision. The result is a board that performs with nature rather than against it, delivering flex and feel underfoot without the petrochemical footprint of a fibreglass hull.
Cork's elastic recovery and impact resistance translate directly into the way the board reads in the water. Every board is engineered at our facility, shaped by Luís Carvalho's atelier and finished as a piece meant to last a lifetime rather than a season.
